
A range of educational organizations have been served by REACH’s core team across Pakistan in multiple categories and capacities. REACH has expanded its repertoire of services to empower youth coming from various sects and income levels of society. It has served young learners from O/A Level schools to Faith-Based Schools (Madrasahs) across Pakistan. Some of the main areas in which REACH’s team has worked are:
School management: REACH’s team members have experience of developing school systems with a communicative approach toward learning. The team has worked in the capacity of Independent Experts for the EMO Schools Project under Public Private Partnership (PPP NODE), Sindh – a project of USAID and Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD). The school management was primarily done in the far-flung areas of Sindh province working closely with the minority and marginalized communities. The School Improvement Program for two campuses of Comet’s Educational System was one of their commitments towards serving the underprivileged community with quality education.
School audit and assessment: REACH’s core team has worked in the capacity of Independent Experts for the EMO Schools Project under Public Private Partnership (PPP NODE), Sindh – a project of USAID and Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD). As independent experts, monitoring and evaluation of the EMO schools was conducted under the seven Key Performance indicators (KPIs) – ranging for evaluation of; (i) School Management Plan, (ii) Staff Availability and Attendance, (iii) Students’ Enrolment, Attendance, and Retention, (iv) Lesson Planning and Students’ Assessment
System, (v) Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of School-based Staff, (vi) School Repair and Maintenance and School Community Engagement, and (vii) Health and Hygiene Practices and Sports Activities. The core team has conducted a school audit and evaluation of 30 government schools of Korangi and Malir in Karachi. Apart from this, the team has conducted a school audit and evaluation for the British Council’s English for Teaching, Teaching for English (ETTE) and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP). The teamwork repertoire also encompasses the development and execution of the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) and Early Grade Math Assessment (EGMA) in public and private schools in many parts of the country.
Monitoring and Evaluation: The REACH team exhibits exemplary expertise in monitoring and evaluation, particularly showcasing proficiency in real-time monitoring, progress monitoring, and process monitoring for both public and private schools. Their adeptness lies in implementing robust systems that allow for immediate and dynamic tracking of educational initiatives. Real-time monitoring enables quick identification of challenges and the timely implementation of corrective measures. Additionally, the team excels in progress monitoring, meticulously assessing advancements and achievements against predefined benchmarks. Process monitoring, a crucial component of their skill set, involves a thorough examination of the methodologies employed, ensuring the efficacy and adherence to established standards. In navigating the complex landscape of education, the REACH team’s specialized proficiency in monitoring and evaluation contributes significantly to the continual enhancement of educational quality and outcomes.
Gender Equity: The REACH team has worked with OXFAM-GB, and the Indus Resource Centre on the project; “Bringing Policies into Practices to Promote Financing for Gender Justice”. Underthis project, the team’s expertise extends to the operational planning of educational policies, with a focus on gender-responsive budgeting and the review and analysis of education sector plans. The team has developed minimum standards for gender-friendly schools for creating inclusive and equal educational environments. The team worked for the girls’ education in district Swat, KP, for the improved accessibility of girls in the primary school and capacity building of teachers to make the schools gender friendly schools.
Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED): REACH Services for Early Childhood Education and Development are distinguished by their commitment to enhancing the capabilities of in service and novice teachers at the tertiary level. The REACH team, through yearlong courses, diligently works to build the capacity of educators, ensuring they are well-equipped to nurture and educate young minds. Beyond teacher training, the team extends its impact to preschoolers residing in calamity-hit areas. A notable aspect of REACH’s dedication is reflected in the development of tailored learning resources designed to meet the unique needs of children facing challenges in such areas. By addressing both ends of the educational spectrum – teacher training and tailored resources for young learners in crisis zones – REACH exemplifies a comprehensive approach to early childhood education and development, contributing to a more resilient and inclusive educational landscape. REACH has joined hands with KBM Daycare and Learning Centre for the provision of customized Daycare, ECE and Foundational Literacy Programs.
Human resource development: The development of human resources primarily includes developing programs for capacity building, professional ethics, and channeling professionally trained human resources to various professional fields. The work has been executed with the universities forthe development of educational courses and programs, development and conducting the programsfor business professionals at the corporate level.
Research: The area in which REACH’s team has researched includes second language acquisition, second language teaching, gender equity and right to education, tackling childcare Pakistan-creating family-friendly spaces, Early Childhood Education, and non-formal education.
Teacher education: Design programs and modules for language, pedagogy, leadership, and school management. Training programs have been developed for teachers related to non-formal education, early childhood education, business professionals, reading skills development (in Urdu, Sindhi, and English), life skills, leadership, and school management programs.
Tourism and International Educational Visits: Design and develop educational and excursion visits in countries such as Turkey. The international educational visits are customized in their design and execution for different groups of educationalists, professionals, and students. Develop skills based programs for tourism and hospitality management.
Health: REACH has taken Sustainable Development Goal SDG 3 “Good Health and Wellbeing” as one of the most important thematic areas to contribute optimally to the marginalized communities of Pakistan. REACH has a team of health experts and a group of experienced doctors who are eminent professionals in their respective fields. They are associated with REACH and have worked closely with marginalized communities in the outskirts of Karachi for child and maternal health along with generating awareness for health hygiene and nutrition. Some of the doctors are renowned in the field of Guiney and Family Healthcare. The doctors have vast experience working in both public and private hospitals. The gynecologists’ along with their professional engagements have extensively worked on healthcare projects. Their work experience includes training and development work in the field of maternal and child health. As gynecologists, their professional work and experience have propelled them to serve their expertise as resources for doctors, post-graduate and undergraduate medical students, midwives, and nursing staff for antenatalcare,assisting in the delivery and identifying the risk and abnormality in patients to reduce maternalmortality along with surgical skill training. The training of midwives for antenatal care and familyplanning for insertion technique of IUCDs, and implants and to identify the unusual or emergency forthe timely referral to the tertiary care hospitals for the safety of the patient. They have also conductedawareness sessions for common female ailments and healthy living for the general public. One of thedoctors is a leading team member of the family planning committee and has conducted free campsin the low-income areas of Karachi and district Hub, Baluchistan.REACH as an organization has direct interventions in public, low-income private schools, andcommunity-based schools, catering to education as primary and health and nutrition as secondaryservice delivery programs. Under the health and nutrition program, REACH has conducted severalhealth screening camps for students, teachers, and parents coming from marginalized communitiesalong with training lady health visitors (LHVs) working in public schools. In addition to this, regularawareness sessions on personal hygiene, the World Pandemic – COVID-19, and common diseaseswere conducted for parents and communities throughout urban and rural areas of Sindh.General health physicians have vast experience in periodic training programs for quality serviceprovision and improvement in all service delivery sections and enhancing the personal skills ofmedical staff, pharmacy technicians, vital signs assessment technicians, laboratory staff, midwives,and mental health counselors. The health physicians have also conducted training sessions, andhands-on workshops, at Aga Khan University Hospital for junior doctors, medical students, andnursing staff. These doctors have conducted free camps for maternal health care, childcare, andcommunicable diseases in collaboration with different partners such as the Rotary Club.

With the addition of seasoned healthcare professionals, Dr. Humera Riaz and Dr. Syed Riaz Ali Shah,
REACH has expanded its expertise to include healthcare services, public health research, and medical
training. By leveraging their extensive experience, REACH is positioned to implement transformative

for evidence-based health policies. Our healthcare initiatives focus on:
• Primary & Preventive Healthcare: We prioritize early intervention and disease prevention
through community-based programs that focus on health awareness, vaccination drives,
nutrition support, and hygiene promotion. Our initiatives aim to reduce the burden of
preventable diseases and promote healthier lifestyles, especially in underserved areas.
• Maternal & Child Health: Recognizing the critical importance of maternal and child
healthcare, REACH works to improve access to essential medical services for mothers and
infants. Our programs include prenatal and postnatal care, nutrition education,
